Trader Joes’ List – allowed food for the Detox

I live near Trader Joe’s and LOVE shopping there.  They are the “discount” good food place – no chemical preservatives is their motto and it’s a start toward better eating.

For the detox there are many items I incorporate into my meals… here are some:

1) Dried Mango, unsulphered, unsweetened

2) Raw almonds, cashews or pecans

3) Organic Romaine Hearts

4) Organic shredded carrots

5) Organic baby carrots

6) Hummus (this one is a little bit of a cheat because they don’t use cold-pressed olive oil, but, I use it for dip and allow!)

7) Chocolate Lovers Chocolate Bar – 85% dark (first three days only, one ounce per day allowed)

8) Organic Bananas

9) Almond Butter

10) Cashew butter

11) Simply Fruit, all fruit spread (by the jams)

12) Red Pepper soup

13) Organic Tomato Soup

14) Salsa (there are a lot to choose from, make sure you choose one with no sugar)

15) Organic ground beef

16) Range free, organic chicken

17) Oranges

18) Organic Cucumbers

19) Kalamata Olives (great with the cucumbers for a salad)

20) Organic Celery

21) Organic Black Beans

22) Organic onions

23) Organic Yams and/or sweet potatoes (in a bag!)

24) Lara Bars (not to be confused with Luna bars) – only dates, nuts and spices.  A Great snack!

25) Light Coconut Milk

26) Honey

27) Agave (great price on this!!)

28) Maple Syrup

29) Spices – great prices on spices to pep up your soups!
