The Confession by John Grisham

I’m not one to take the time to read for leisure.  I am usually needing to read things that pertain to some part of my life – parenting, nutrition, etc. – but I happened to pick up The Confession by John Grisham in early December and had an exciting time reading it off and on for the next couple of weeks (when my husband happened to set it down now and again).

The story involves many typical J.G. inclusions – lawyers, criminals, and the South (albeit this go round it was technically the Southwest in Texas) and a quick tie-everything-up-in-20-pages ending.  This time, however, he went a bit beyond the expected and allowed a surprise turn of events to take place.

Without getting too involved in the plot, I will give the main theme and see if it will hook you: “An innocent man is about to be executed.  Only a guilty man can save him.”

To the point, if you want an easy read that is entertaining and not largely predictable, this one is for you.  (And now it’s available in paperback – bonus money-saving perk!)  Read on for the New Year… read on!
