Green and Black’s Organic Cherry Dark Chocolate

Sweet, tart cherries and chocolate have long been a taste combination in the Northwest.  My first taste was Chukar Cherries and their extravagant semi-sweet individual chocolate covered cherries.  It’s a wonderful taste combination if done right.  And this month’s chocolate bar is done right.

Green and Black’s Organic Chocolate bars are relatively easy to find (as high end chocolate bars go), which makes eating healthier-made chocolate more accessible.  I picked my bar up at a tiny (tiny!) Good Food Store in Weaverville, CA – population 3,807.  I have also seen Green and Black at Fred Meyer’s, QFC (the Northwest Kroger), and Whole Foods.  I have tried Green and Black’s Organic dark chocolate before but opted to branch out and grab one with a bit of flare to it – thus the Cherry. I like it. I like it a lot.

First, you can be sure that the ingredients are top-notch organic ingredients.  Even the cherries!  The cherries themselves are dried but still hold some moisture, which makes them pliable – a nice compliment to the dark chocolate.  The flavors create a nice experience for your palette and seem to linger even after the actual chocolate is gone from your mouth.  Honestly, it’s not the first type of chocolate I would have grabbed if not feeling adventurous, but I’m happy I did.  It’s nice to branch out to other flavors!
