Summer means sun. And sun means travel. Road trips increase and we seek out new destinations to explore. As we find ourselves traveling in the car we need inventive ways to occupy the kids. I have a fantastic idea that you probably already own – a cookie sheet!
Cookie sheets are usually magnetic which means all those fantastic refrigerator toys can come along for the ride. Grab ‘em, stick them to the cookie sheet and off you go! You may have to listen to “the A says ah” over and over again, but the kids are occupied and you aren’t out a dime.
Also, if your kids are into coloring you can flip the cookie sheet over and use it as a solid surface for drawing the next masterpiece. The rim around the edge of the cookie sheets keeps the paper from sliding out and holds several Crayolas (or washable markers) in place. Your little one can pick them up and put them down without having to search the car for their hiding place.
It’s one item, lots of great uses, no money spent. Recycling at its best!
