Mumford & Sons, Sigh No More

As I listen (very late in the music world’s view) to the Mumford & Sons album that introduced them to every ear pop radio could hope to reach, I realize what makes me like their songs is their honesty.  And their love for fast-rhythmed ballads.  And the banjo.  Not to mention the sexy dialects (also known as “accents”) they have.

As I listen I’m watching a movie reveal itself in my mind and I am compelled to take note.  I’m not sure if that is because as an artist my mind works that way – creating images and storylines to each and every song I’m hearing – or if is their musical talent.  Or both.  But, no matter why it is that the music of “Sign No More” drives my thoughts and energy, it is a joy and far more refreshing than any pop radio station can create.

I hope to someday create films and media that moves people the way this album’s songs can drive people to experience emotions.  Bravo Mumford & Sons.  Creativity, passion and drive in music are finally rising to the top after a bit of a hiatus.  Keep it coming.
