Best Brownies

This recipe was given to me by a friend Erin Van Der Helder who also loves to bake.  Enjoy!

3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, roughly chopped

8 Tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

3/4 to 1  cup raw sugar

2 eggs

1/2 cup all purpose flour

1 pinch of salt

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

 

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and 8-inch square baking pan.

2) Combine chocolate and butter in a small saucepan over very low heat, stirring occasionally, until both are melted.

3) Transfer mixture to a bowl and stir in sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

4) Gently stir in flour and salt.

5) Pour into the greased pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until barely set in the middle (do NOT overcook).  Cool on rack before cutting.
