BOB Duallie Sport Utility Stroller

If you are a runner, you already know not all jogging strollers are made equal.  I consider myself a jogger as I don’t compete in runs for time. When I run I usually keep a nice, slow-ish, steady pace and go 4-6 miles at a time (true long distance runners would consider my short workouts a warm up).

That said, if you are looking for a jogging stroller that is truly a jogging stroller (read: it can go on surfaces other than smooth, flat concrete) the ultimate place to start is with a BOB.

BOB is a stroller synonymous with running.  Most offer hand brakes, a suspension system, storage areas (even pockets to store sippy cups on the go), adjustable canopy, and padded harnesses for your kids. Not to mention you can pimp out your BOB with some of their custom accessories.  Some models even have all-terrain tires for “off-roading.”  Basically, when you think of a BOB, think of a really good bike builder that decided to make strollers.

I personally use the BOB Duallie Sport Utility Stroller. I can take two kids off-roading on my jogging excursions.  Even if my oldest would rather ride his bike, I still use it. I just put my younger son in it and go. And, although wide, it’s amazing how small it packs down – small enough to fit into my Toyota Echo.

My BOB was purchased used on Craigslist from a family that was moving and needed to downsize their moving van.  They had gotten it from friend’s who moved out of country.  They are so well-built that you can count on them to last and last.

When I asked people to tell me what they thought of the kid gear they had, a friend of mine who now has three kids answered:

“We have a BOB single running stroller and we still use it. It is 11 years old. Amazing purchase and the only baby item that still lives from our first baby Ela.”

So, even in its third-family use, it’s an amazing piece of equipment. I highly recommend it for a walk or run with your kids.
